The testimony of a new survivor, Ebonié Doyle, who sat down for an interview with Hampton and her team in November 2021, is also included in the documentary series. Hampton and her crew conducted the interview.

When I first met Rob in 1993, I was only 16 years old. She relates this anecdote in the documentary, saying, “My friends and I went to an event, and he was there with other musicians, and I just remember that his voice was simply fantastic.”

“After the play, my girlfriend and I were waiting outside, and we were ready to go to our cars when a limousine pulled up,” the narrator said. “After the show, we were ready to drive to our cars.”

She claims that Kelly got out of the limo and invited them to his hotel room, and that’s how Doyle ended up being under Kelly’s control. Kelly stuck his head out of the limo.

When Doyle’s mother found out that her daughter was seeing Kelly against her desires, she evicted the teenager from the home. Doyle’s mother did not approve of the relationship between her daughter and Kelly.

Therefore, immediately following her graduation from high school, she relocated in with Kelly. After that, things took a turn for the worst in a way that was even more unsettling.

Doyle claims that Kelly was “very controlling,” and that when it came to sexual matters, he insisted on having things his way. For example, she didn’t know how to arch her back to his satisfaction properly, so Kelly would make her remain in a fixed position with her back arched for “literally hours” as he trained a camera on her to make sure she maintained the arch.

According to what she says in the document, “He would even take pauses.” “He would come back and check on me to see if I was still in that same position, all the while keeping the camera on to see if I moved when he requested me not to.”

“He would come back and check on me to see if I was still in that same position.” He wanted to shape me into the person that he envisioned me being for him, and he wanted to do this exclusively for me.

Doyle recalls hearing people in Kelly’s inner circle “talking about Rob and Aaliyah,” and that she would regularly ask him what was going on between him and Aaliyah, to which “he would deny it.”

When a producer asks Doyle if she was aware of his relationship with an underage Aaliyah, she says that she remembers hearing people “talking about Rob and Aaliyah.”

Doyle claims that she began to become aware of certain physical similarities between herself and Aaliyah while on tour with Kelly, and she now believes that she was “like a body double for her.” Doyle was on tour with Kelly at the time.

Doyle eventually alleges that while she was residing at Kelly’s residence, she discovered disturbing evidence of Kelly’s preying on Aaliyah. This allegedly occurred while Doyle was a resident there.

Doyle claims that she continued to have a relationship with Kelly, even appearing in his music video for the song “Playa’s Only” in the middle of the 2000s.

However, she began to distance herself from the alleged predator after seeing how he treated her eldest daughter, who was 12 years old at the time. Doyle’s daughter was 12 years old at the time.

According to Doyle’s account, she and her young daughter went to get McDonald’s with Kelly in his car, and while they were there, he began “looking at my daughter in the back seat, in the rearview mirror, with the weirdest look on his face, and it freaked me out.” Doyle says that this experience scared her.

Kelly was never in the presence of her daughters again after that.

Unfortunately, Kelly had Ebonie groomed to such an extreme degree that she kept claiming that she desired he got the help he needed as he was not a horrible man but simply someone who did terrible things.

Kelly had trained Ebonie to such an extreme degree that she had said this. The survivor’s friends, on the other hand, have been extremely helpful and understanding throughout the ordeal.

In fact, they have gone so far as to explain to her that the brainwashing is the source of her beliefs rather than her own free will. In addition, the passage of time allowed her to triumph over her troubled history and move confidently toward a more promising future.

Ebonie is a successful businesswoman, a doting mother of two children, and she currently resides in the city of Fort Mill in the state of South Carolina.

In addition to running the Just Relax Massage Therapy in Fort Mill, she also runs three other businesses: one selling baked goods under the name Sweets n Treats by Ebonie, one selling goods for children under the name Meyoki’s Closet, and one selling preserved roses under the name EbbyJean Infinity Roses.

It warms our hearts to see Ebonie achieve success in spite of the terrible things that happened in her past; we pray that she will continue to be successful in the years to come.

More Details About Docuseries Surviving R. Kelly

Through interviews with survivors, journalists, enablers, and eyewitnesses, the documentary series Dream Hampton built a scathing portrait of the R&B legend’s decades-long practice of grooming and abuse. The series made its debut in January 2019, and it painted the portrait.

The program on Lifetime was a Greek chorus of grief that indicted not only R. Kelly but also an industry that went to great pains to protect him, as well as a media and public that turned horrifying child-abuse allegations into comedy fodder.

The program was an indictment not only of Kelly but also of the industry that went to great pains to protect him.

Additionally, it was successful. Authorities in New York City, Chicago, and Minneapolis opened new cases against Robert Sylvester Kelly as a result of the tireless efforts of Hampton, as well as those of journalist (and subject of documentary) Jim DeRogatis.

This resulted in the public finally turning against Robert Sylvester Kelly. After the conclusion of his racketeering and sex trafficking trial in New York, Kelly was given a sentence of thirty years in prison for his crimes. Additional punishment is awaiting him in Chicago, and ongoing charges are being considered in Minnesota.

Lifetime has produced a documentary titled “Surviving R. Kelly,” which aims to shine light on R. Kelly and the allegations of s*xual and physical assaults that he confronts.

The artist has been accused of being involved in sexual and physical abuse of young women, as well as child p*rnography. These allegations have been made against the musician.

On January 3 at 8 pm Eastern Time, Lifetime will broadcast the concluding episode of the documentary series Surviving R. Kelly Part III: The Final Chapter.

R. Kelly is an American R&B singer-songwriter and record producer who is best recognized for the gospel-influenced vocals he uses in his music as well as the overtly sexualized lyrics he writes.

Kelly, who is widely regarded as the “King of R&B,” was awarded three Grammys for his hit song “I Believe I Can Fly” and had more Top 40 songs than any other male solo artist in the 1990s.

In addition, Kelly won all three of those awards. His private life has been marred by a number of contentious sex scandals, including accusations of child pornography that were eventually abandoned.

In 2019, he was taken into custody on a number of separate occasions and charged with offenses ranging from aggravated criminal sexual abuse to sex trafficking.

R. Kelly: Career Details

R. Kelly had his first big break in the music industry in 1990 when he signed a recording contract with Jive Records. Prior to that, Kelly had spent some time performing in bars and nightclubs.

The next year, he collaborated with his backing band, Public Announcement, to release Born into the 1990s.

The album was an instant success thanks to the success of its singles “Honey Love” and “Slow Dance (Hey Mr. DJ),” both of which were featured on the album.

Kelly became well-known for his sexually charged lyrics almost at the same time that his record surged to the top of the charts.

Kelly’s meteoric rise continued in 1993 with the release of 12 Play, at which time he achieved his first No. 1 song on the mainstream charts with “Bump N’ Grind.”

During the same year, the singer-songwriter endured a really difficult personal tragedy as his mother passed away. With the release of R. Kelly, he not only continued to live up to the reputation that earned him the nickname “Prince of Pillowtalk,” but he also incorporated some of the gospel influences that shaped his musical career.
