The Good Doctor (Season 6): Review Of Episode 6, More On Cast, Plot, Release Date, Filming Locations, Recap And Other Details

The sixth season of The Good Doctor begins with Shaun at home, prepared to go to the hospital. There is a heatwave, and he is stockpiling items he might need to combat the heat.

He notices Lim struggling with the heat at the hospital due to her spinal cord damage. Powell tells Shaun that she encouraged Lim not to rush into surgery to repair her spinal injury.

Shaun is obviously irritated that she interfered with the operation he worked so hard to accomplish.

He is also upset that they will be working on a case together. While working on their patient, Shaun is often contradicted by Powell, which irritates him because he believes she is dismissing his experience.

The Good Doctor (Season 6): Review Of Episode 6

Shaun was being a jerk to Powell and being incredibly unprofessionally. He wasn’t exactly the favorite of senior surgeons when he first started, but they nonetheless treated him professionally. He needs to adjust because he is now in charge of instructing the residents.

He should keep his personal ideas from interfering with their education to become better doctors. He needs to learn that even if he has more experience, he is sometimes correct.

However, Asher provided us with a lot of genuine laughs in this episode, particularly in the moment where they unintentionally kidnapped an older man on the street.

During this episode, the show celebrated its 100th episode, and based on what we’ve seen so far, we can hope for another 100.

The Good Doctor (Season 6): Episode 6 Recap

Lim is sweating profusely at the hospital. Powell advises she join the wheelchair basketball team because the air conditioning is on in the gym. Lim declines and goes to grab an iced coffee.

Shaun arrives. He’s now collaborating with Powell. He notices Lim sweating and adds that she would be doing better if she had the operation. He’s irritated that Powell warned her against it.

Even though there is a power outage, an elderly gentleman is rolling a cake down the corridor. Asher and Morgan must work with older people who like dancing and may have dementia. This irritates Morgan. Asher thinks they’re cute.

Meanwhile, Park deals with an older woman named Edna who has a beating heart. She claims her heart has kept her going for the past 90 years. Park had to shatter her ribs to restart her heart after she collides.

On the CT scan, he discovers a tumor that extends from her lungs to her abdomen. She wants it taken away. He does not believe she is a candidate for surgery and thinks she should leave it alone for the next six months. She desires a second opinion.

Powell and Shaun assist a man who has become dehydrated after riding his bike in the heat. Powell believes that due to his condition, they will be unable to place an IV. Shaun tells her that he needs a more experienced doctor and dismisses her.

Later, the man tells Shaun that his most obnoxious employees are the ones who test him the most. However, before Shaun can respond, the man begins gasping for air and crashes.

Jordan receives test findings on her patient. The heat has permanently damaged Mae’s organs, and it is irrevocable. She will die in a few hours. Mae has no family to call. Her husband died of cancer. He had always wanted to visit Paris, but she told him to wait until he was better.

Powell and Shaun talk in the server room because it’s cooler. They disagree about what is wrong with the patient. Lea realizes the servers are ready to explode. The power goes out for a split second. The backup generators start up. Later, Lea asks Shaun what his problem is with Powell. He finds her annoying, stubborn, and refuses to listen. When Lea points out that he is the same way, he doesn’t get it.

Lea tries to convince Andrews that they must shut down the top two floors to prevent the servers from overheating, or there will be a total blackout. Andrews refuses.

Shaun and Powell perform an exploratory procedure on their patient. They talk about how they dislike each other. They also realize their patient has a more serious problem than they thought and may die.

Shaun and Powell have another argument in the server room about how to proceed, and Shaun decides Powell is contradicting him and dismisses her from the case. One of the servers fails.

Powell visits Lim’s office. Lim is hot, and her WifI isn’t working, so she lost two hours of work. Powell suggests the gym once more. Lim is receiving physical therapy. Powell doesn’t see why she needs it and believes she should be content with being healthy while disabled.

Perez tries to come up with ideas to save his and Jordan’s patient, but Jordan tells him there is nothing they can do. Morgan and Asher locate their missing Alzheimer’s patient, but he shuffles away.

They return the patient to the hospital, only to discover that Jerome discovered the real Arthur Abbott in the laundry room. Who is this person?

Shaun’s patient informs him that he wants Powell back, challenging all of Shaun’s decisions. He explains that Israeli intelligence always has a tenth man in the room to challenge all decisions thoroughly, and that he does the same, which is why he has a successful business.

Lim and Powell go to the gym. Lim intends to sit on the bench and believes the hoops are too high. The captain of the opposing team believes Lim is tall and will be a good player. Jordan tells Perez that they will take Mae to Paris before she dies.

Shaun complains to Glassman about Powell and how the patient wants her but he despises her. Glassman says he works with a lot of people he doesn’t like. He describes how he and his father-in-law didn’t get along, but when Maddie was five, his father-in-law performed a magic trick Glassman had been trying to learn. They got along much better after that.

Lea watches, horrified, as the servers all overheat. Lea converses with Andrews. She is hoping she will not be fired. He hopes the Board of Directors does not fire him. Lea goes to make some phone calls.

Park informs Glassman in the operating room that his grandfather had pancreatic cancer. His grandmother pushed him to have surgery, which ruined him. According to Glassman, there are times when the pain is too much. But Edna’s paralysis will not prevent her from enjoying the rest of her life.

Shaun tries to find common ground with Powell, but she doesn’t like pancakes and watches disaster movies about weather he doesn’t like. He claims he still dislikes her. The older man has been identified. His grandson, a lawyer, is on his way to get him. Asher and Morgan are concerned.

Jordan and Asher use virtual reality to give Mae the experience of a trip to Paris before she dies. Shaun dismisses Powell’s suggestions. She tells him to stop, and that their common ground is being disabled and treated as outsiders. Shaun devises a surgical plan, but the power goes out.

After all, Powell and Shaun collaborate to save the patient’s life. Lea says she’s still determining if this will work because the server isn’t designed to handle this load, but she does something to turn the power back on.

The older man’s son and granddaughter arrive to pick him up. Asher fears that he and Morgan will be arrested for kidnapping. According to the man’s son, the heat and his father’s new tendency to wander saved his father’s life. Asher is astounded that they are heroes.

Edna awakens. She and her doctors eat butterscotch pudding. Perez is impressed that Jordan gave the dying woman her last wish. Morgan tells Asher at the 100th birthday party that she doesn’t want to have a boyfriend. She wants to have a child.

Powell and Shaun discuss ancient surgical tools. They have that in common.

The Good Doctor (Season 6): Filming Locations

Many of you may be wondering where ‘The Good Doctor’ is filmed. The show is set in California, USA. Aside from the protagonist’s house, the hospital depicted on the show has become a familiar location for viewers, as ‘The Good Doctor’ is a series set in the same location. Its characters do not travel frequently, and the majority of the action takes place in a fictitious hospital.

British Columbia, Canada

Vancouver, British Columbia has become a popular location for Hollywood productions. Its proximity to the United States and the generous tax credits offered by the Canadian government have been cited as the primary reasons for producers to shoot movies and television series there. As of October 2018, more than 30 television series were being shot in Vancouver.

‘The Good Doctor’ is set in San Jose, California. The majority of the show’s characters are medical professionals who work at the fictional St. Bonaventure Hospital in San Jose, California. However, several real locations in Canada were used to film scenes set in the Californian Hospital.

To begin, Vancouver Community College is one of the locations masquerading as St. Bonaventure Hospital in San Jose. The college is primarily used for scenes set inside the hospital, particularly those set in the hospital cafeteria.

Other locations used in the filming of ‘The Good Doctor’ include the British Columbia Institute of Technology, the Campbell River Store in Surrey, the Beach Grove Motel in Delta, and the Lamplighter Gallery Café in Langley City, as well as Hinge Park, Provence Restaurant, and Coopers Park in Vancouver.

Season 5 finds Shaun navigating more uncertainties as a significant change arrives at St. Bonaventure, all while planning a wedding.

Meanwhile, the rest of the team must navigate the complexities of their own changing relationships while dealing with life-or-death situations.

One of the big early questions for season 6 is what will happen to these two long-running series regulars.
